    Hi David –

Nice to see you in video form! I’ll try to tape a message too!

David, I really like the song playing in the background. Haunting and soulful. Who’s the artist?

    • David says:

That’s a cover of the theme song for the BBC show Are You Being Served? done by the band Coil: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTHgDp3_1cw

All the folks who were in Coil were very heavily influenced by alchemical ideas. As can be seen, I suppose, by turning a BBC show’s theme into a work of soulful profundity.

      • Erika Harris says:

I think they’ve got alchemical hair, too. ::teehee:: Listening now. Being carried away, actually, on visceral currents that sound so good… Thanks for turning me on to them.

      • David says:

Funny you should say that…I think I read an interview where they were talking about the alchemical/magical intent of their haircuts!

Their later stuff is my favorite, from their albums Ape of Naples and Black Antlers. They also did a 4 disc set to celebrate the Equinox/Solstices called Moons Milk in Four Phases which is really beautiful.
