Dedicated to a Contemporary Study of Alchemy and Hermetica

I’m less interested in why we’re here. I’m wholly devoted to while we’re here.

There is much to excite in Chapter 6 in NorCAL. Dennis writes about First Matter as the placenta or holy black soil – the basic dark matter of the Universe.
Then this: “That is why rejected things like feces, …urine, and even shadowy dark desires and beliefs(?) we shove into our unconsciousness are symbols of the First Matter.”
He shows us that alchemists connect First Matter to the Quintessence or Fifth Element (seen that movie?)
But you ask: Is the First Element the Quintessence?
There is always a balance in faith required when transmuting the physical plane and/or the spiritual realm. A yin-yang of good – evil.
Excellent, Willi. Yes, I’m *very* enthused by the integration of shadow, and love Jung’s voice on this. I’ve given some recent thought to this:
* http://lifeblazing.com/2010/12/21/mommy-im-ready-to-sleep-without-the-night-light/ (I make explicit reference to the goodness of black placenta and black earth in this podcast); and
I guess I just don’t get/see the value in attributing the integration of darkness to anything in particular.
